Truro has been an important provincial town for centuries. Originally established by Ulster Scottish settlers in 1759, Truro’s roots still can be traced back to its early days as an agricultural centre. Farming in an important industry – Nova Scotia Agricultural College, located in neighbouring Bible Hill, is the only higher-level institute dedicated to studying agriculture and agribusiness in Nova Scotia.
